The Debugger component primarily provides a graphical front end to GDB (The GNU GCC Debugging tool). It will work with GDB locally and remotely as a client to a GDB server on another machine. The Debugger allows for operations like setting "break points" within the runtime execution so you can single-step through your program to pinpoint the problem.
