Advanced Visual Developer
Project Overview
The Advanced Visual Developer project is intended to bring high level, professional
visual development tools to the AmigaOS4(tm) platform. Initially the project has been broken down
into five major components. A Text Editor, GUI Builder, Project Manager, SDK Browser, and Debugger.
Collectivity, these tools will work together in a seamless graphical environment designed to greatly
accelerate the development of AmigaOS4(tm) software. This integrated package of tools covering the
complete development process from concept to delivered product is known as AVD, or the Advanced Visual Developer.
Each of the five components will be written to operate both as an independent application as well
as part of an integrated system. Each application will be an AmigaOS4(tm) "Commodity", with the ability
to communicate with the other components and the OS, even when hidden. This is somewhat similar to a
"service" or "daemon" process on other operating systems, as it runs in the background and is
independently controllable through a standard system interface.
AVD is a commercial project being developed by BITbyBIT Software Group LLC, a company dedicated to
the development of AmigaOS4(tm) software. As such AVD will be sold to other AmigaOS4(tm) developers under
a royalty free license, which enables them to produce and sell (or give away) their own titles without
any further compensation being owed to BITbyBIT Software Group LLC, beyond the purchase price of AVD
itself. In order to aid the AmigaOS4(tm) development community and to help fund the development of
of AVD itself, each of these components will be made available individually as there are ready for
public release. (See AVD Purchase Plans [BUY AVD]
if you are interested in beta testing in-development and pre-release versions of AVD and it's components.)
(Follow the links on the left for details on each of these components.)
