Advanced Visual Developer
Project Manager
The Project Manager component is the piece of the development suite which ties
the other components together into what is more commonly known as an IDE or Integrated
Development Environment. Although it can perform several functions as a stand alone
application, it is most useful when combined with the other components. The Project Manager
provides organization and easy access to all source files, plus auto-generation and execution
of the build files (Makefile) needed to build a given project. It also invokes the compiler,
optionally displaying it's output and providing quick link access to the Text Editor for
compiler errors or warnings.
Possible features would include:
-
Auto-generation of Makefiles
-
Support for synchronizing the project files with common version control systems (CVS, Subversion, etc.)
-
Integrates and provides a centralized interface for accessing the various features on each
component within the AVD suite (Edit, build, debug and run all from one interface)
-
Toolbar and menus for invoking the build process itself
-
Captures console output from compiler to provide quick access to the source files
(double-click on error or warning link brings up the file in question)
-
Automatically bump the project version numbers on every build
(requires AVD Template source), or
directly bump the version up one, or to a set value, without editing the file(s) manually.
-
Much more...
Target purchase price: US $49.95
The above estimates are for version 1.0 of the component, sold as a stand alone application.
