NEWS

October 10th, 2006:
A critical update to the standalone FREEWARE version of the SDK Browser application has now been released for use by everyone. The SDK Browser v1.6.0.0 FREEWARE release contains important bug fixes over the v1.5.0.0 release as well as a few minor improvements, and is a highly recommended upgrade for everyone using the FREEWARE version.

Registered owners of the SDK Browser should have already received an email announcement informing them that their personal registered copy of v1.6.0.0 is available for download now from their private file area. If you are a registered owner and have not yet received your update notice, then most likely the contact email I have for you is out of date. Please contact me with your updated contact information. Thank You.

August 27th, 2006:
I have added some clarifications for the proposed FREEAVD project, which I hope will help everyone understand what the initial starting requirements are and what is requested to aid in continued development. I have also added a second progress bar to more accurately represent both monthly sponsorships and specific donations. See the STATUS and SPONSORSHIP pages for more information.

August 25th, 2006:
Announcing a new project proposal: FREEAVD !!!

This is a real chance for the entire Amiga community to gain FREE professional visual development tools for the next generation of their favorite operating system. Help make this a reality by becoming a FREEAVD Sponsor today. Plus, as a bonus for each sponsor who contributes a total of US $200 to this project, will receive a full licensed copy of the AVD Suite v1.0 (Commercial Version). This license may also be donated to your favorite developer if you choose not to make use of it.

The FREEAVD project requires a minimum of 300 sponsors at the COPPER (or $10/Month) level before it's development can be committed to. It's development will be accomplished in parallel with the full commercial version of the Advanced Visual Developer Suite.

Click HERE for more information, and to help support this effort.

SPECIAL FREEWARE VERSION of The SDK Browser RELEASED!!!
The in-development support program for AVD (the FDSP Plans) draws to a close this month with the completion of the last installments. I would like to publicly thank all the people who have contributed to the success of these plans and helped fund the development of AVD and its supporting tools, enabling us to reach this point.

Without your help we would not have been able to make it this far.

Now that this phase of funding is ending the real challenge begins. Every day AVD grows and matures forming useful tools along the way, but continued funding is essential to its timely completion. Therefore, if you have been considering pre-ordering AVD or making a donation to support this effort, now is the time. Thank You.

As a special thank you to the Amiga community as a whole, BITbyBIT Software Group LLC is especially happy to announce the release of a SPECIAL FREEWARE VERSION of the highly popular SDK Browser program!

The SDK Browser v1.5.0.0 FREEWARE release provides a score of new powerful features over the previous SHAREWARE release of v1.0.0.0. Including a fully multitasking search bar, browsable rotating history, double-click on any displayed text to automatically perform a quick function lookup or to copy the keyword into the search bar, and many more. Not to mention fully updated to support the latest AmigaOS4(tm) SDK and new features (like better mouse-wheel support) introduced in Update #4 of AmigaOS4(tm).

Download your copy HERE and try it out for yourself.

I hope you find it as essential to your daily programming efforts as I do.

The SDK Browser version 1.5.0.0 RELEASED!
Version 1.5.0.0 marks a primary release point for this component of the AVD Suite. Although there are still more features scheduled for the version which will ship with the AVD Suite v1.0.0.0, the SDK Browser v1.5.0.0 has now reached a new level as both a highly useful stand-alone reference tool, and as the foundation of the AVD Suite's interactive database of AmigaOS4(tm) SDK knowledge.

If you have already purchased the AVD Suite or are a FDSP subscriber, then download it from the Members Only Area.

If you are an owner of just the SDK Browser component itself, then your personalized copy is now available for immediate download from your private download area using your login name and password. If you need to have your personal download information resent, please email me directly at: jamie@bitbybitsoftwaregroup.com

January 31st, 2006:
The end of January 2006 marked the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of my step away from the corporate programming world and into full time development of AmigaOS4(tm) software. It has been a lot of work getting things off the ground in the first year but it has been very exciting as well. The support from everyone in the Amiga community, especially those you have purchased software or made financial contributions, is what has made it worth the hard work and long hours. BITbyBIT Software Group will continue to strive to make programming for OS4 both fun and easy throughout the rest of 2006, and with your help, many years to come.

Best Regards, Jamie.

BTW: For anyone out there interested in knowing a little more about how I feel about things and where the company is headed, don't forget to pick up a copy of Issue 22 of Total Amiga Magazine, which contains a five page interview with me. (Yes, I'm surprised they printed the whole thing too.)

Special "in-development" pricing for AVD comes to a close
with the completion of BITbyBIT's first year!

It's hard to believe that January 31st, 2006 is nearly here already and with it the end of BITbyBIT Software Group's first year of full time development for AmigaOS4(tm). It has been a great year in many ways, and largely would not have been possible without the financial support of many great members of the Amiga community.

Being a programmer at heart I wish I could say that all the hard work and long hours in 2005 all went into direct software development. However there is far more involved in establishing a company like BITbyBIT as a viable entity, which will be able to produce and support the huge development effort and goal of AVD, both now and in the future.

I am happy to say that now that nearly all of the ground work is complete, 2006 is going to be the year to just dig in and crank out the code. I hope you will be able to join in the fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR from BITbyBIT Software Group LLC!
